Vince Contarino is a Brooklyn-based painter who explores the possibilities of abstraction through a visual language of shapes, gestures, and informed decision-making. He has participated in various exhibitions in and outside of NYC and co-founded the artist-run initiative, Progress Report in 2010. He received his BFA in 1997 from Ringling College in Sarasota, FL, participated in the Artist in the Marketplace Program in 2006, and was an artist-in-residence at The Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation Space Program 2010-11. His work has been featured in Artcards Review, Hyperallergic, and New American Paintings Blog.
