Benjamin Degen works in painting, drawing and sculpture. His artworks are an interplay between elements and conventions of Western and Eastern classical aesthetic traditions as well as American folk art, abstract painting and typography.
Degen has had solo exhibitions at Guild and Greyshkul Gallery and Museum 52 in New York City as well as Kantor Feuer Gallery in Los Angeles, California and Medium Gallery in St. Barthelemy, French West Indies. His has participated in group shows nationally and internationally. His artworks are included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, and The Collezione Maramotti.
Degen was born in Brooklyn, NY. He received his BFA from The Cooper Union in 1998. He lives and works in New York City.
